This cartoon was inspired by actual events. While most people without diabetes carry fear about an abstract event that may (or may not) happen at some undetermined time – an event that has little to do with their decisions or mistakes – it’s different for the diabetic. Whether it’s a healthy fear or not, the everyday anxiety of our future is a complication that few of us can avoid.

In case you haven’t heard, diabetes isn’t just a disease, it’s a lifestyle. I’ve been living it long enough to know it sucks... I’ve put my complaints to paper, although I can’t quite remember why I started. Maybe I thought my dark sense of humor would pay off someday, somehow?
